General Description

This outfall was constructed in 1936.

Sewerage Catchment:

• Stockton outfall is the discharge point for the Stockton STP.

Sewage Treatment:  

• Stockton STP provides secondary treatment effluent (Imhoff tank, oxidation ponds and surface aerators).

Outfall:

• Effluent is discharged into the surf zone on Stockton Beach via an elevated trestle pipeline located about 2km north of the entrance to Newcastle Harbour (MHL769 1997).
